Sky-rocket: a dashboard for skills-based pay rises

A complete dashboard, desktop and mobile, designed in 5 days and delivered with every graphic asset.

The Sky-rocket dashboard on a laptop and a phone: employee reviews, roles and skills.

Context

Sky-rocket was a UK tech start-up with a clear idea: help companies give fair pay rises, based on newly acquired skills and seniority.

Problem

Showing a lot of information clearly and concisely: the platform asks users to fill in many fields across reviews, skills, roles and feedback. All of it following Material Design standards, to speed up development.

Solution

I studied similar platforms to understand the business and how to present the data, then the Material Design guidelines. On that basis I designed the full dashboard in Figma, in the client's palette: step-by-step employee reviews (skills, advancement, feedback), skill cards with levels, attached files and private feedback, roles and settings.

After the first iteration the client sent a full list of changes; I worked them in until the final design, for desktop and mobile.

Outcome

Design delivered in 5 days with every graphic asset; the client then built the platform from it. Their review: "Alessandro was fantastic! He responded quickly, asked the right questions and made a really nice design from my vague requirements."
